Watch Party � Dilara Tunes #01 � The End of Women Characters

We watch. We pause. We talk.

Watch Party, which we host together with Dilara Tunes, is a participatory meet-up series where we watch visual media together, pause at certain moments and talk about what we have just seen. We do not simply watch a film, a television programme, a piece of digital content or another media example; we think about it together, place different points of view side by side, and sometimes discover how what we are watching could be read another way.

Dilara Tunes, who makes content on popular culture and media literacy on YouTube, will accompany the series with the material she selects, guiding both the viewing and the conversation.

For our first meeting we come together around a pattern that repeats itself again and again, especially in fiction: �The End of Women Characters� .

We will watch together, stop at certain moments, ask questions, and build a conversation that runs from how women characters are positioned within stories to which narratives keep coming back to us.

What we want to create here is a relaxed, informal and participatory space for conversation rather than an academic panel. We aim to think about the material together, hear different points of view and come up with new ideas.
